FOR THE 6TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR, HERE IS MY TOUR OF THE WORLD IN 40 INSPIRING RETAIL SPACES.
This year is indeed marked by a significant ecological awareness, but it is also one of great paradoxes… While many brands are steering their store networks toward positive energy and even setting the price of their products based on their carbon impact, others are exploring the Metaverse and creating collections sold in virtual currencies. Autonomous stores are multiplying, technology allows for advanced diagnostics through artificial intelligence, and Amazon is entering the “fashion retail” sector, completely digitizing fashion shopping… Meanwhile, spaces dedicated to heritage and the sensory expression of brands are also being created—places for passionate “humans” to meet and exchange ideas. Finally, I wanted to highlight an emerging and very significant trend this year: initiatives around inclusive commerce. Today in France, 1 in 7 adults is in a situation of disability or limitation, and societal stigmatizations are numerous and diverse. It is essential that our retail spaces be the first places of open-mindedness and expression of this diverse society; their influence on this, as well as on the ecological transition, is undeniable.
